Under the supervision of the Manufacturing Manager - and in accordance with federal and state regulations, is responsible for warehousing, transportation arrangements for the company’s products, and supervises the receiving department’s activities in accordance with established policies and procedures CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Maintains and trains an adequate work force consistent with planning requirements and work levels. Assigns employees to jobs, instructs them in proper performance of work, familiarizes them with company rules and regulations. 2. Responsible for controlling the receipt and storage of raw and finished goods, including the dispensing of purchased items such as the proper rotation of inventory. 3. Oversees the inspection of incoming materials against order quantity and purchase order number, and arranges for correction of defective materials. 4. Consults with and advises the purchasing, sales, and production control departments of traffic matters or raw material problems. 5. Monitors department inventories by taking cycle counts and graphing the results. Initiates corrective action for continuous improvement of inventory accuracy. 6. Responsible for the upkeep of forklifts and the training of operators in the proper use of them. 7. Participates in and coordinates programs for methods improvements, work simplification, cost reduction, communications, training, etc. 8. Is responsible for the proper storage and handling of hazardous and non-hazardous materials and wastes in warehouse and chemical storage shed. 9. Prepares reports relating to shipping and receiving activities. 10. Prepares and submits operating budget and controls department to operate within approved budget. 11. Is responsible for proper application of established department employee relations, policies, wage and salary adjustments, administration policies, and safety and health regulations. 12. Is responsible for quality and safety of own work and compliance of all company procedures and policies.


Required: High school education plus supervisory training course. Four years of experience in manufacturing or shipping/receiving environments.
