The Bioscience & Water Filtration Team is looking for a Microbiologist, to be responsible for developing, planning and executing internal and external microbiological services to support the lifescience filtration industry. This is a hands on position that will manage environmental monitoring of cleanrooms, maintaining and utilizing various laboratory equipment, budgeting purchases, as well as scheduling and maintaining / upgrading laboratory support capabilities. Scope/Supervision and Interaction: This position does not have any supervisory responsibility.

• Run the Microbiology Laboratory; including scheduling, inventory, cleaning, scheduling maintenance and managing a budget. • Support Microbiology Testing: Bacterial Retention/Cartridge Integrity, Growth Promotion, Microorganisms seed lot preparations - dilutions/freezing, LAL testing, Bio-burden testing, Environmental Monitoring: sample collection and processing (air, surfaces, water), etc. • Using ISO/USP/AAMI standards: plan, develop, and perform analytical studies and methods to support validation rationale. • Perform IQ/OQ/PQ on equipment in Microbiology Lab and assist with validations in general laboratory, write procedures/validation protocols, write reports on studies and testing in support of R&D and customer inquiries. Review/revise procedures related to microbiology. • Coordinate tasks with production, R&D, QA and engineering. • Develop new testing i.e. Environmental Monitoring, Water Activity etc. Research microbiology related issues to assist in product development, validation, and testing. • Assist in maintaining safety and quality systems within technical services group . • Serve as the incoming / outgoing reviewer of requests and reports. • Assist in developing and drive improvements of internal capabilities and processes to established accredidations and or customer requirements. • Participate in laboratory testing and product autopsy. • Train and oversee the work of several Lab Interns when applied to direct scope of work in the Microbiology Lab.

• B.S. in Microbiology or other applicable STEM degree, with 3-5 years of experience, in a GMP/GLP Laboratory. • Industry experience supporting clean room 10,000 (Grade C). • Ability to institute a wide array of procedures and GDP/GMP/GLP based projects. • Proactive and results oriented attitude, including strong attention to detail and troubleshooting skills. • Knowledge of and proficiency in the use of analytical instruments: Biotek microplate reader and Endoscan-V endotoxin measuring software. Strong aseptic technique. Familiarity with microbial identification principles. Media preparation and microbial growth experience. • Strong technical writing skills. Strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills. • Good computer skills. • Knowledge and experience working with Laboratory Information Systems (LIMS) preferred. • Team-mindset with good communication and interpersonal skills in working with others.
