The Stratoflex Parker Camarillo site is searching for an experienced Aerospace or Automotive Engineer to join our Quality department.

This role is a critical member involved in the execution and sustainment of the Parker Zero Defect Program (ZDP).
The ideal candidate possesses a minimum of 2 years in the Aerospace or Automotive industry.

Responsibilities include:
  • Maintain AS9100 Quality Management System
  • Develop & implement Zero Defect culture through Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) utilizing tools such as Failure Mode & Effect Analysis (FMEA), Control Plans, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Measurement System Analysis (MSA), 8D corrective action and other Six Sigma tools
  • Represents company by interfacing with customers and regulatory agencies and assisting with internal and external audits. May act as main contact in audit. Develops and coordinates corrective actions.
  • Customer’s Quality representative for Parker products, providing communication for all aspects of program quality topics from performance issues, improvement plans, returned goods and periodic reviews.
  • Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activity to disposition nonconforming hardware and lead in problem solving for root cause and corrective action to improve manufacturing processes.
  • Perform contract review activities on customer quality requirements to ensure internal compliance and capability.
  • Effectively assess and implement continuous improvement techniques to quality and manufacturing functions.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, ensuring adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Defines problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draws valid conclusions.
  • Ability to multitask and work on a variety of problems of diverse scope and complexity where analysis and evaluation of various outcomes require tradeoffs and negotiation.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of modern inspection and quality inspection and quality engineering/assurance techniques, procedures, instruments, equipment, theories, principles and concepts and general business operations. Knowledge of aerospace industry or similar industry products and legal and regulatory requirements related to field. Ability to use standard business applications software and/or specialized data analysis tools.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints, specifications, technical journals, policies and recommend changes to procedures.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present information to team members, team leaders, and top management.
  • Ability to solve a wide range of difficult problems in imaginative and practical ways and evaluate alternative solutions that may require coordination across multiple teams. Ability to establish goals and objectives to complete projects. Ability to routinely apply project management skills and to effectively use project scheduling computer software programs.

    Qualifications Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other closely related technical field.
  • ASQ Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt or CQE certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years related experience.
  • Must have experience & knowledge of APQP tools.
  • Quality Engineering experience with the Aerospace or Automotive industry in a design, manufacture, assembly and test environment.
  • Background in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing ANSI Y14.5 to interpret manufacturing drawings and tolerance requirements.
  • Experience with machined parts, castings, springs, seals, special processes, and test methods preferred.
  • Problem solving techniques including 8D or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Aerospace industry specifications and Customer Quality requirements.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 and related requirements.
  • Working knowledge in computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Strong facilitation and project management skills preferred.
