We are seeking a dependable Material Handler in our Shipping department on 1st shift. Parker Hannifin offers competitive pay with the starting rate for this position currently at $19.04 per hour plus a $1.00 shift differential with the opportunity to increase to $21.53 after 18 months. Parker Hannifin also offers comprehensive benefits including, but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k/retirement planning benefits, merit increases until reaching top out rates, and quarterly profit sharing bonus'. Additionally, we are offering a SIGN ON BONUS up to $1,000 after six (6) months of full-time employment.

Performs a variety of tasks involved with the flow of product throughout the shop.  Moves and stages materials for throughout the facility.  Ensures availability of inventory items, determines methods of storage and stock location, considering height and weight limits, turns, floor-loading capacities, and required space.  Uses forklift and pallet jacks to move material.

Essential Functions:

  • Moves parts and updates the location data in the computer.
  • Issues kits for production (WIP) and final assembly.
  • Maintains inventory accuracy.
  • Ensures that inventory items are available when needed.
  • Transports parts and materials between locations and departments as needed and in accordance to product routers.
  • Receives finished goods from production (WIP).
  • Maintains a clean work area and assists in departmental housekeeping.
  • Complies with safety procedures and company policies.
  • Completes other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Actively participates in company-sponsored training programs
  • The ability to maintain working relationships with all levels of Parker staff as well as outside contacts (i.e. vendors, customers, etc.).

    Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D
  • The ability to read, comprehend and follow verbal instructions is required in order to perform the duties described above.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of computers and the ability to type 30 words per minute.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering bills of materials and blueprints.
  • Ability to operate a forklift.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Previous experience in this field preferred, but not required.

    Physical Demands/Work Environment:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to hear and speak. The employee must regularly stand, walk, sit and use hands to grasp and handle. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 40 lbs. The employee will regularly bend, stoop, and stretch handling parts/objects in various situations. Specific vision requirements include close vision, ability to focus, and depth perception. This position may be exposed to oils, dirt, fumes and moving equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
