Position Summary
The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for the strategic management of the supermarkets, incoming and outgoing shipments, as well as the leadership of the material’s team. Oversees day-to-day activities to meet daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual expectations. Responsible for developing and leading associates, making employment decisions and performance assessments of the material’s department.
Essential Functions
Ownership of the supermarkets. Works closely with the market attendants and operations team to improve the tugger route through optimization of the markets. Responsible for ensuring the markets are clean, safe, and right-sized for demand.
Drive team engagement by being available to all team members and working together to remove barriers impeding efficiency. Lead a safe and lean Manufacturing culture throughout facility by leading kaizen events, helping teams with initiatives, support of team boards and managing projects to help with problem solving.
Maintain a variety of schedules, records, and reports pertaining to the tracking of materials through the production cycle and availability of production resources. Assist with the monitoring of inventory levels generating tracking reports and performing data entry as required. Utilize visual management systems to communicate plan, progress, and continuous improvement activity.
Responsible for identifying employee development needs and monitoring adherence to Parker policies/procedures. Train and develop employees to ensure a flexible workforce exist to support fluctuations in business demand. Write and conduct performance reviews of hourly employees as required.
Qualifications
-Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in management or supply chain.
-4 year college degree in business, engineering, or materials management required with certification in transportation preferred.
-Possess analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices and recommend proper automation opportunities.
-Must have advanced computer skills and be able to understand of electronic processing.
-Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts.
-Must be an innovator and embrace lean enterprises principles and practices.
