With direct guidance in a team environment, responsible for performing basic inspection requirements.   

 

  • Maintain accurate and up‐to‐date records and files.

INSPECTION

  • Perform basic parts inspection using gages and instruments such as micrometers, calipers, height gages and
  • thread, plug and ring gages, hardness testers, spring tester or related inspection equipment to determine
  • acceptability or rejection of parts.
  • Operate surface analyzer to determine parts finish.
  • Observe and perform audits of assembly and test, machining and other functions for compliance to procedures.
  • Document acceptances and rejections.
  • Route inspected parts per instructions.

CALIBRATION

  • Issue or remove parts from various areas.
  • Perform basic calibration on various types of measuring and test equipment.
  • Determine measuring and test equipment acceptability to tolerances.
  • Use standards to make set‐ups for calibration of measuring and test equipment.
  • Issue and recall measuring and test equipment.

NONDESTRUCTIVE TEST

  • Perform daily, weekly and monthly equipment and material checks.
  • Perform pre‐inspection and post‐inspection cleaning.
  • Set‐up equipment and conduct tests.
  • Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain a FOD free work area.
  • Perform other related responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • One year inspection or related experience or demonstrated ability to perform described responsibilities.
  • May be required to be certified as a Level 1 Nondestructive Test Inspector in magnetic particle inspection and/or liquid penetrant inspection. The certification must be in accordance with MIL‐STD‐410 and PES1‐29.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, manufacturer's specifications and internal drawings and procedures.
  • Ability to use and/or calibrate mechanical, hydraulic and electrical instruments/gages.
  • Possess working knowledge of machine shop mathematics.
  • Knowledge of applicable military standards may be required.
  • May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must demonstrate effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.
