Position Title:     CNC Setup Operator A

Reports To: Value Stream Manager            

Position Summary:

Assure that all machines within assigned manufacturing cell are properly set up to perform enquired operations involving all levels of complexity/difficulty.  Operate machines as required, and instruct, assist and participate in the work of assigned team.

Essential Functions:

·       Operate CNC machines, lathes machines, milling machines, boring machines, and tool grinding equipment.

·       Write and execute programs for CNC machines.

·       Determine work procedures from drawings, sketches, schedules, and blueprints.

·       Repair and make parts.

·       Refine design fixtures.

·       Assist in prototype development.

·       Assure that all parts produced meet Engineering requirements by measuring, inspecting, using SPC and making adjustments, seeking assistance for variables beyond own control.

·       Follow SOP required within work cell.

·       Understand ISO procedures and know where appropriate documentation is kept.

Qualifications:

·       3 – 5 years experience

·       Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as complex gauges and micrometers.

·       Ability to use complex shop math, work from Engineering drawings, specifications, charts and tables.

·       Ability to read, write, and speak English in order to interpret written materials and maintain appropriate records.

·       Lifting up to 35 lbs.
