Role Summary

As a Trade Compliance Specialist at Parker Meggitt, you’ll take on the responsibility for our Trade Compliance Program for the Ansty Park Braking Systems Division in Coventry, where you will report into the Division Trade Compliance Manager. Using your skills and business insights you will support the excellence of our supply chain organisation, whilst proactively working to minimise compliance risk and maximising operational and cost efficiency.

Core Responsibilities

  • Functioning as an expert resource to Braking Systems UK Operations in the areas of import/export transactions, Dual-Use, Military and Defense regulations, Free Trade Agreements, Inward/Outward Processing Relief Programs, policies, and procedures with a strategic focus to streamline efficiencies and ensure compliance with regulations
  • Aiding in the design, and assisting in implementing and managing a robust trade compliance program for the UK Operations, including the ongoing development and maintenance of local procedures and training program 
  • Managing country-specific customs simplification licenses, export license processing, conduct risk assessments, identify compliance issues, and oversee implementation of corrective measures, assist with governmental audits
  • Implementing and executing Preferred Broker solutions on strategic and operational levels: implement and ensure EDI interfaces with ERP systems, automatic archiving in document management systems, ensure lead times, data quality and import entry file completeness (archiving)
  • Supporting implementation and execution of Global Trade Management Platform (JDE/MIC/SAP GTS)
  • Ensuring Item Master Data quality: Tariff Codes (HTS), Country of Origin determinations, Export Control Classification and Licensing (Dual Use and Military), Free Trade Agreement eligibility
  • Supporting our international cargo security and AEO licensing

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

Essential

  • Solid working experience in Trade Compliance, or Brokerage/Freight Forwarding
  • Fully fluent in English; spoken and written
  • Ability to contribute expertise in a large cross-matrix organisation
  • Excellent interpersonal and communicational skills
  • Self-motivated and driven, with a can-do-attitude and continuous learning ability
  • Willingness for limited business travels (ca.15%)

Desirable

  • Bachelors/Masters degree in business, law or similar field
  • Additional languages spoken
  • Experienced in Trade Compliance software, such as MIC/SAP, GTS, or comparable
