Role Summary

Work a rotational two shifts’ days and night’s shift pattern and operate as a member of the maintenance team. Facilitating the effective and efficient maintenance of Plant and Equipment at Parker-Meggitt. Ensuring that plant and equipment is maintained to a high standard, meeting the requirements of the production teams, whilst ensuring compliance with all electrical, mechanical, factory and health and safety regulations.

Core Responsibilities:

·       Ensure highest priority is given to health and safety and the well-being of yourself and the maintenance team, operators, or any 3rd party in the vicinity (e.g. contractors/visitors), while you are undertaking work requested of you, using the appropriate techniques/procedures.

·       Make corrective repairs to plant and equipment for which appropriate training has been undertaken, aiming to return equipment to an acceptable condition, capable of the highest standards of performance possible subject to equipment age, condition, and previous operation/maintenance.

·       Promote continuous improvement in overall plant operations by reducing downtime wherever possible on repeated breakdowns, by monitoring and refining 1st line maintenance schedules and preventive maintenance schedules, by understanding and acting on measures of performance.

·         Operate under verbal and written instructions from Maintenance Supervisor. Also responsible to resident production supervision as required by working patterns.

·         Prepared to work either on own or within a team as situation dictates.

Skills, Knowledge & Attributes

·       City and Guilds, equivalent qualifications, or apprenticeship in the related fields.

·       Working knowledge of CNC’s, Hydraulics & Pneumatics, Cooling Systems (Pumps, Motors & Heat Exchanger Plates, Steam Boilers, Vacuum and Gas Systems is desirable.

·       The ability to fault find and work from machine/plant drawings and manuals.

·       Experience relevant to the Role Responsibilities specified.

·       Working knowledge of statutory factory regulations is desirable.
