You will be responsible for providing support to various product development, technical service initiatives and application development growth projects involving Parker Lord coatings and adhesives.  Typical tasks may include chemical synthesis, product formulation, product property and performance testing, sample preparation, product application, and preparation of technical documentation/reports, data mining, and statistical analysis (design of experiments). Your objective is to drive technological breakthroughs that address the most critical and underserved needs of our differntiating and demanding customers, offering solutions that deliver exceptional value and unmatched performance.

With direct supervision, you will learn and perform the various aspects of the function by:

  • Acquiring knowledge of various department’s operations, functions, responsibilities, and workflow.
  • Observing work assignments performed by others and actively participate in hands-on projects and/or special assignments.
  • Maintaining communication with program coach/mentor to provide feedback on departmental assignments and program improvements.
  • Attending related training and applying it in work assignments.
  • Performing other related responsibilities. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • GPA 3.0 or better
  • Being enrolled in a Bachelor’s or advanced degree program in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Polymer Science or related degree program.
  • Strong leadership skills and a “can do” attitude.
  • Strong technical aptitude and analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong computer proficiency and the ability to quickly learn new applications.
  • Strong innovation and creative thinking, self-motivated.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information.
  • Detail oriented individual with demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team member.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
