The Value Stream Manager is responsible for the leadership and overall operations of a value stream and plant. This role implements the Parker Lean system and Win Strategy to ensure a safe work environment, maximize profitable growth, drives quality improvements, provides premier customer service, develops a technically qualified and engaged work force, reduces operating costs, inventories, and lead times through continuous improvements. Oversee day-to-day operations to meet customer and business expectations.

This position is responsible for developing and managing production team members, Process Engineering, and have dotted line reporting for other functional departments. The VSM has responsibility for hiring and related employment decisions and performance assessments for the Value Stream.
Responsible for all aspects of managing the Value Stream to include developing team members, ensure that team engagement, consensus in decisions, ensure that decisions are rapidly implemented, budget management, employment decisions related to team members and performance assessment of all direct reports.
· Leads the Plant in daily operations and continuous improvements which include but are not limited to: safety, supply chain, production control, establishing manufacturing priorities, and order shipments.
· Ensures the Plant has proper inventory, production control scheduling, shipping/receiving logistics and quality procedures in place.
· Meets with Team Members regularly, reflecting on problems, solutions, and challenges, thereby creating a culture of continuous improvement and employee empowerment by ensuring that standardized work/processes are followed, countermeasures implemented, and the area is compliant with safety requirements.
· Provides leadership by promoting team concepts, coaching, counseling, retaining, mentoring, training, talent management, and individual development. Drives a culture of accountability and results through strategy deployment and effective performance management.
· Ownership of Plant P&L’s including cost analysis and opportunities, product line margin, PPV goals and manufacturing productivity. Develops a budget plan and manages Plant within budget constraints.
· Works with members of Division Staff to develop the future state value stream map and manages the plans to achieve it, as documented in the Site Tracking Center. In addition, the VS Manager maintains the Team Improvement Boards (TIB) . Both centers – the TIB and Site Tracking Center – are the minimum requirements in a visually controlled environment that ensures no problems remain hidden.
· Profitably grow the business and achieve goals measured weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually.
· Leads strategy deployment for the Plant initiatives and growth. Leads Manufacturing functions to ensure operational efficiency and economy.
· Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline is required.
· Minimum of five years’ experience in a manufacturing or operations environment.
· Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities using effective problem solving / resolution skills and a team focus.
· Demonstrated experience leading a team in LEAN process improvements/implementation.
· Demonstrated teamwork and team building skills in producing results by meeting organizational objectives. Capable of assessing and developing individual and team skills and capabilities. Able to create and maintain enthusiasm for new and challenging goals. Serve as a role model by promoting new ideas and positive change.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to effectively and persuasively present information to Management, customers, and employees.
· Sufficient experience and general knowledge of accounting, PC skills, manufacturing, human resources management, inventory control and strategic planning.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
