The IT Intern will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the end users and workstation environment at the CSS San Diego facility. The IT Intern will provide best in class customer service in carrying out their duties. The role provides installation, maintenance, and general support of hardware and software and supports end users with advanced questions or problems by identifying, researching, and resolving technical problems. The IT Intern will help support a variety of IT processes and manufacturing applications, that are critical to day-to-day business operations.

The internship is designed to be a part-time on-site position starting immediately for the 2024-2025 school year. The start and end date for the internship is flexible.

·       Function as the link between business applications and users from a technical and process perspective.

·       Support the resolution of critical situation technical problems.

·       Manage incidents and requests in coordination with global IT service desk, utilizing ITIL foundational principles.

·       Facilitate direct interaction with internal customers.

·       Drive results and proactively identify and resolve problems.

·       Develop training materials to support process changes and new technology introductions.

·       Follow established safety and environmental policies, procedures, and methods applicable to the work area.

·       Perform other duties as necessary.

Education:

·       Pursuing a bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or related field.

o   Incoming Junior or Senior Standing

o   Minimum of 3.0 GPA

Experience:

·       1 year of experience with maintenance and repair of computer hardware, preferred

·       IT Service Management ticketing tool such as ServiceNow, preferred

Certifications:

·       ITIL Foundation, preferred

·       Microsoft Certified Professional, preferred

·       Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert, preferred

·       CompTIA A+, preferred

Skills:

·       Strong customer service orientation

·       Proficiency in English language, including speaking, reading, and writing

·       Ability to apply innovative thinking toward problem resolution

·       Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner

·       Strong written and verbal communication

·       Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management

·       Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities

·       Willingness to learn and take initiative

·       Self-starter with the ability to work independently, collaboratively, and in a team environment

Physical Demands:

·       Ability to work for extended periods of time while sitting or standing.

·       Ability to use hands and fingers for extended periods of time. 

·       Ability to perform repetitive motions for extended periods of time.

·       Ability to lift and move equipment up to 30 pounds.

This role is subject to compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), which requires the incumbent to be either a US citizen, lawful permanent resident [“green card” holders], or have refugee or asylee status).

Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations. Pay Range: $16.85/hr - $24.00/hr.
