Our anticipated dates for  our Summer 2025 internships are Monday May 19th through Friday August 1st.

Responsibilities:

Interns will be placed with our Electronic Materials Research and Development group, our Structural Adhesives Research and Development group, Structural Adhesives Process Engineering group, Electronic Materials Process Engineering Group, and our Chemical Research and Development group. Interns will take part in unique assignments within the their team, but not limited to:  Process Development and Design, Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Engineering, Chemical Research, Chemical Formulation, etc.


Our interns will contribute to chemical projects and spend ample time in a chemical lab environment.  You will be part of a team working to innovate and develop processes to create and manufacture our new chemical products.  Currently we are driving innovation in Parker Lord products such as thermally conductive gap fillers, structural adhesives, and coatings. Typical tasks may include batch creation, running tests and experiments,  design of experiments, pilot scale manufacturing, physical property testing, collaborating with our global manufacturing facilities, preparation and presentation of technical reports, and statistical analysis. Your objective is to enable technology breakthroughs that serve the most important, yet least satisfied, outcomes of interest for our customers, providing solutions that deliver compelling value and unparalleled performance.

Qualifications:

The requirements to be part of the Program are:

  • Must be actively pursuing a degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Polymer Science, or Materials Engineering.
  • GPA 3.0 or better
  • Strong leadership skills and a “can do” attitude.
  • Strong analytical, mechanical conceptualization, and problem-solving capabilities,
  • Strong computer proficiency and the ability to quickly learn new applications.
  • Strong innovation and creative thinking, self-motivated.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information.
  • Detail oriented individual with demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently (with minimal supervision) and within a team environment.
  • Familiarity using statistical software or related tools.
  • Some experience making technical presentations and report writing.

This role is subject to compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), which requires the incumbent to be either a US citizen, lawful permanent resident [“green card” holders], or have refugee or asylee status).
