ResponsibilitiesPOSITION SUMMARY: Provides technical support to the process engineers to ensure production goals are met productivity improvements are made. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Provide technical and administrative support to process engineering including data collection, data entry and filing. 2. Provides assistance related to review of existing and design of new manufacturing equipment and processes. 3. Assure safe environment and support process improvements related to safety, including environmental and ergonomics. 4. Provide cost reduction and productivity improvements through the support of continuous improvement (value stream) projects. 5. Support the Process Engineers in leading the Cost (Productivity) site wide star point team and lead the high performance teams in maintaining the cost side of their TIB. 6. Perform A3 root cause analysis and implement corrective actions. 7. Perform PPAP Activities (e.g. P-Maps/Controls/FMEA reviews & updates). 8. Support new part and ECO approves 9. Participate in escalation process on shop floor. 10. Validate and improve process capabilities. 11. Trouble shoot and problem solve on the production floor on process through review of day by hour sheets. 12. Review, revise and draft standard operating procedures, including work instructions, process documents, batch cards. 13. Train operators, supervisors and other employees on new equipment and/or new processes. 14. Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with a minimum of 3-5 years of manufacturing /technical experience, preferably in a quality capacity; preferred Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline. 2. Strong statistical, analytical and decision making sense of urgency skills. 3. Knowledge of lean manufacturing and problem solving tools (e.g. fishbone, 5Why’s) 4. Six Sigma Green Belt, a plus. 5. Technical writing experience (SOPs, work instructions, safety documents) 6. Proficient in MS office software including Excel, Word & Powerpoint 7. Must possess a high degree of personal organization and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
