POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for leading department personnel in performance of daily production needs, assigning responsibilities and coordinating department activities and personnel. Monitors department’s performance for safety, quality and productivity. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Assigns work and guides department personnel in completion of assignments in accordance with production schedules, utilizing labor and equipment in the most efficient manner. • Performs duties of supervisor when he or she is unavailable. • May be called upon to perform the following functions at the direction of the department supervisor: o Requisition materials o Inspection reports o Employee evaluations o Time Sheets and Vacation requests o Physical inventories • Trains department workers on assignments, assuring proper performance and work habits are being met. • Keeps supervisor aware of personnel problems so prompt action might be taken. • Responsible for implementation of improved methods or processes. • Work with cross-fun. teams to implements new ideas. • Completes departmental paperwork as required. • Monitors department to ensure adherence to quality procedures and process instructions. • Responsible for keeping areas neat, clean, organized, and under control. • Is responsible for quality and safety of own work and compliance of all company procedures and policies. • Responsible for department personnel adherence to all safety policies and procedures. • Maintains conformance with work rules and regulations, issues warnings for violations and administers approved disciplinary measures.

Required: High school education and six months previous experience in a manufacturing setting. Preferred: Some college and one year in a leadership role.
