This position manages most aspects of launching a new product part number in the manufacturing environment from PO receipt or Milestone/Database entry. The technical support service specialist develops and maintains the project schedule for each new custom part number as it moves through the process from PO receipt through initial production to ensure on-time delivery. This position leads the cross-functional effort of process engineering, marketing, quality, supply chain and manufacturing by assigning tasks to appropriate team members and removing bottlenecks in the workflow. This position will also be responsible for adding catalog items to MSS, maintaining changes to legacy items including material updates, lead time, plant re-charters and all other necessary revisions.
•Performs manufacturing (technical) contract review for all part orders to determine necessary requirements for flow down including routing instructions, special customer requirements (SCR’s), PPAP’s, first articles and post operations. •Performs administrative contract review to ensure conformance to quote and any/all exceptions were appropriately acknowledged by the customer •Maintains documentation in APQP area of responsibility and in accordance with the division’s quality systems (TS-16949/AS9100) •Facilitates project meetings with key personnel as needed •Delegates tasks to assigned personnel to complete required activities •Enters required information in to MSS/order management system for new parts and maintains revisions •Creates sales order and communicates status with customer •Uses strong influencing and project management skills to meet customer expected ship dates and timing •Develops a regular cadence and communication channel (spreadsheet/dashboard) to be shared with stakeholders (management) for visibility and status of open projects •Manages assignments/service requests in Oracle Engagement Cloud to meet goals of responsiveness and reasonable updates on status of open items •Participates in kaizen events or HPT’s to facilitate continuous improvement or other projects as assigned (may require travel) •Attends calls/meetings related to new business opportunities, projects or developments related to strategy and growth of the division •Implements and follows standard work in accordance with cost, quality and LISC targets •Provides feedback to pricing/marketing or relevant parties for lessons learned and opportunities
•Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferred •Experience in lieu of degree with demonstrated results in project management in operations, engineering or product development usually gained with 3 or more years of experience •Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage simultaneous activities/projects •Practical experience with division products and requirements acquired through customer application, drawing, print and specifications exposure •Basic knowledge of engineering terminology, molding and manufacturing processes, tooling and procedures •Proficiency in computer applications/skills or ability to rapidly learn new applications (Milestone, Microsoft Suite including PowerBI development) Working knowledge of MSS/order management is preferred. •Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment •Excellent organization and time management skills
