Advocate and support the Corporate WIN Strategy by supervising the receipt, storing, and delivery of materials, finished goods, level-loads, cycle counts, equipment and supplies to meet internal and external customer needs. Supervisory responsibility includes, but is not limited to, training and developing subordinates, delegating work assignments, writing and conducting performance appraisals, coaching and counseling employees, and administering disciplinary procedures up to and including Written Warnings.
• Responsible for the direction and control of the warehousing of raw materials and/or finished goods in a single facility. • Selects and negotiates contracts for public and cold storage warehouses. • Provides functional direction, procedures, and policies to all factory warehouse operations and monitors their performances and compliance. Typically reports to Regional Warehouse Manager. • Manages the receiving department’s picking, shipping, replenishment, and off-site storage activities. • Plans and facilitates the training and development of subordinate supervisors and staff. • Participates in the development of mid-term and long-term strategic planning. • Participates in and coordinates programs for methods improvements, work simplifications, cost reduction, communications, training, etc. • Responsible for cycle count program and target attainment. • Directs subordinates in the assignment of work for most efficient use of personnel and equipment. • Coordinates and directs the processing of required transportation document and forms, and the maintenance of records, files, and reference data relating to customers, regulations, disposal of waste water, recycled cardboard, urethane, chemicals, etc. • Consults with transportation and inventory control personnel to solve problems and improve processes. • Develops and utilizes tracking parameters for reporting, productivity, and service. • Ensures optimum utilization of all receiving department resources including space, labor, and equipment. • Participates in meetings with production management and other personnel as required. • Participates in planning for operating budget and controls department to operate within approved budget. Responsible to reconcile expense variances against Bridge Schedules on monthly basis. • Is responsible for the proper application of established department employee relations, policies, wage and salary adjustments, administration policies, and safety and health regulations. • Is responsible for quality and safety of own work and compliance of all company procedures and policies.
• Bachelor’s Degree in business or three years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have demonstrated problem-solving, time management and leadership abilities. Proficient computer skills. • Must have ability to effectively work with people in a team environment and at various levels of the organization. Must possess strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Will interact with employees at all levels of the organization, customers, and outside contacts. • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to hear and speak. The employee must regularly stand, walk, sit and use hands to grasp and handle. Specific vision requirements include close vision and ability to focus. • This position may be exposed to moving equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. This position may require occasional travel and alternating of work hours.
