Basic Function: Responsible for the execution of required shipping and receiving activities to meet customer requirements and internal measures. The Warehouse Lead Person is second in charge of the warehouse. Responsible for supporting the Warehouse Supervisor and filling in for the supervisor when necessary. Help coordinate warehouse activities as well as transfer information to employees in order to achieve the production requirements of the departments, and the Parker Service Center. Scope/Supervision: Works closely with the Warehouse Supervisor, Office Supervisor and Plant Manager to coordinate the activities of the center’s warehouse staff. Assists in providing communication, training and guidance to insure premier customer service is delivered on a consistent basis. Essential Functions: • To provide premier customer service according to facility, division or group policy. • The Lead person will troubleshoot issues; escalate the issue when appropriate and follow-through to insure customer satisfaction. • Work with the office to expedite emergency orders upon the customer’s request. . • Monitor internal procedures/controls to assure accuracy and timely completion of assigned work projects. Support Lean and recommend corrective action where appropriate. • Participation in improvement programs, motivate and empower others. • Maintain clean and orderly work environment. Monitor and report unsafe conditions. • Provide new hire training • Provide feedback on warehouse staff work performance to Supervisor. Assure positive employee relations. Understand and support company policies and procedures. • Maintain effective communication with all levels of management. • Perform various warehouse duties including, but not limited to: o Pulling of product per customer requirements and preparing pulled product for shipment to the customer o Processing inbound shipments for appropriate storage o Cycle counting and/or physical inventory o Use of various types of equipment including, but not limited to: o Various types of fork lifts o Automated storage and retrieval systems o Automated warehouse management systems (WMS) o Use of various computer based programs (Bill of Ladings, small package manifest, PC type applications, mainframe type applications) o Record necessary data on appropriate paperwork and/or in computer based program(s) o Maintain all equipment according to facility maintenance procedures • Perform all responsibilities in a safe manner observing all safety requirements • Actively support the Corporate Win Strategy • Read and interrupt product prints and/or catalogs • Perform other related responsibilities • See Warehouse and Hose Fab Physical Capacity for full requirements. Additional Comments: In addition to the Warehouse Lead function, this position requires periods of backup coverage for one or more of Parker’s on VMI planners who are located on site at the customer. Up to 6 weeks per year of travel will be required for this (driving, not flying). The backup coverage functions include the following: • Identifies part number requirements for production from engineering, MRP, & production schedules. Ensures accurate customer item master file & bill of material. • Advises customer, PSC, and VMI team of the status of work in progress, product availability, and potential production shortage/problems to ensure that the customer can plan accordingly. Recommends changes and/or options to avoid production shortages and improve throughput. • Evaluates and confirms materials supply is available to meet demand with divisions or fulfillment center. Places necessary orders for production to support a master production schedule, shop load, and inventory requirements. Coordinates material movements if needed between internal customer stocking locations and storage areas and/or Parker locations to ensure materials are available when needed. • Scans, manages, & stocks all product on the VMI program for each customer facility. • May be required to operate a forklift & other material handling equipment and lift/handle up to 35 lbs. regularly while stocking inbound product at customer facility. • Assist sales team in day to day sales functions. This could include but not limited to part identification, inventory availability, assist with discrete orders, general quality functions, & overall Parker support. • Advises and assists management in resolving problems concerning over shipments, shortages, engineering changes, & cancellation of orders. • Coordinates cross-functional activities with Field Sales, PSC’s, Divisions, & Quality Assurance to ensure a smooth flow of materials through the production process and consistent information about status and priorities. • Applies continuous improvement techniques and methods to internal & customer processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs. This includes making recommendations to improve overall VMI program, material flow, and/or storage of product. • Ensure all day to day functions meet Parker & customer safety standards and safe work environment.
