The operator is responsible for all setup, operations, and quality of the extrusion and continuous hose line operations. The operator must be attentive and self motivated. He/she must also be able to work as a team. The amount of equipment and processes used requires a lot of attention to detail in order to minimize setup time and scrap.

1. Make complete line setups on jobs from charts and specifications.. 2. Operate line, maintaining proper speeds, adjustments, etc., to insure a quality product and production rates. 3. Perform continuous inspections of product both visual as well as through the use of micrometers and calipers. Record product and process parameters. 4. Perform repairs to equipment, assist others in maintenance when major repairs to any equipment on assigned line are required. 5. Complete all necessary records, reports, etc. as required, giving particular attention to proper part number, job number and quantity per pallet or reel. Insert product weights on Production Tickets. 6. Package product according to instructions to include the making of cartons and spools as required. 7. Mix materials, load hoppers and grind scrap product as required by operational needs. 8. Assemble packaging materials as required by Job Sheet. 9. Keep extrusion line and surrounding area clean and orderly and in compliance with 5-S and any LEAN intiatives. 10. Must be able to run straight-out core tube;learn to operate crosshead - sheathing, Multitube bundles and run a three-layer core tube head and servers, operate two-layer sheathing head, ink-jet and packaging equipment. 11. Perform work of an equal or lower classification as required.

Operators must possess a high mechanical aptitude as well as the physical strength to handle tooling and reel changes. Must be able to read and write, interpret setup sheets, use calipers, mics, lasers and gauges. Must be able to lift or move items in excess of 50 lbs occasionally (e.g. material bags, extruder screws and product reels).
