POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for generalist functions and assigned projects of moderate scope and complexity in various human resources areas. Facilitates organizational development and change that supports key business objectives. Will also have administrative responsibilities for EHS. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Fosters positive employee relations by effectively facilitating communication and problem resolution. 2. Manages the payroll process through Kronos timely and accurately. Researches issues and stays on top of the latest updates and functionality of the system. 3. Manages the FMLA and Disability leave processes for the site. 4. Participates in conducting organization-wide training needs assessments. Provides input on priorities and overall recommendations. May be certified as a trainer and/or deliver training for specific programs and/or develop and conduct internal training based on need. Promotes, models, and reinforces learning. Oversees associate training tracking for the site. 5. Manages the applicant tracking system, screens and interviews applicants and coordinates searches. Takes ownership of the staffing process from requisition input to closure. Serves as the daily liaison with the temp staffing service. 6. Enters and maintains employee data via Peoplesoft, ensures personnel files are created and maintained and participates in audits. 7. Conducts New Hire orientation and general employee benefit and company updates as needed. 8. Creates efficient HR administrative processes by applying continuous improvement measures and methods. 9. Compiles data, prepares and analyzes reports and presentations. 10. Maintains team leader and team member confidence and prevents the disclosure of confidential information. Conducts confidential internal investigations into a variety of Human Resources or other business matters as required. Conducts business in a professional and caring manner. 11. Provides administrative support for the division as needed. This may include things such as ordering and handling lunch events at the site, preparing presentations, running errands, assisting with expense reports, mailing items, data input, etc… 12. Basic EHS responsibilities including the management of the near miss database, EHS reporting, participation on the Safety Starpoint High Performance Team, etc… 13. Handles the administrative side of the EHS role (tracking and managing the near miss system, conducting and tracking safety audits, maintaining the evacuation plan, delivering/tracking/monitoring safety training, etc...). 14. Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through 4+ years of increasingly responsible related experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of human resources principles, industry practices, regulations, and policies. Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to human resources policies and practices. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of team leaders or team members. Ability to respond to significant inquiries, problems, or complaints from team members, team leaders, and regulatory agencies. Ability to effectively demonstrate team member competencies and participate in goal-setting, performance feedback, and self-development activities. HRIS and payroll experience required (preferrably Peoplesoft and Kronos)
