Utilizes principles of systems engineering from the Life Science market to evaluate and develop solutions, clarify requirements, and accomplish system validation activities on assigned programs. Coordinates customer’s technical requests and issues with internal sales and engineering team. These activities may include but are not limited to designing systems, creating specifications, specifying products, processing product repairs, writing technical documents, and troubleshooting existing product installations. This job has no supervisory responsibilities; however, this position mentors entry level Engineers as required. Position requires the ability to deal with people across-all functional levels. The ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form to present information and respond to inquiries from employees,customers, and suppliers. Effective training skills are essential to allow the division to implement future technological advancements.

•Prepares system layout, detailed drawings, and schematics including general arrangement drawings,electrical and P&ID’s by interpreting and understanding customer and functional requirements, or by using engineering computer-aided design tools and following industry design standards. •Specifies product for customer applications in response to direct customer contact or indirect customer contact through sales, engineering, or customer service representative. •Defines and documents system descriptions and validation processes necessary to achieve acceptance. •Provides technical system information for review with other systems product engineering teams using established engineering practices, standards, and methods. Writes technical proposals for customers by reviewing and interpreting system requirements. •Assists customers with troubleshooting of nonperforming installed products. •Assists in the training of new territory managers, new customer service representatives and new engineers. •Complete quality and performance testing for standard and custom-built customer solutions. •Project management utilizing all Divisional resources including coordinating with various departments internally and externally to deliver project within designated timelines. •Investigates assigned system design factors such as function, performance, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replaceability, and contractual specification requirements. •Reviews drawings and layouts to ensure clarity, completeness, form, fit, functionality, and conformity to standards, procedures, and specifications. Identifies design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies at the component and system levels and makes recommendations for improvement. •Recommends changes to products and processes by applying continuous improvement principles and technique. •Maintains high level of technical and professional knowledge of new, existing and evolving products by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, benchmarking best practices, and/or participating in professional associations. •May represent company on assigned projects and train less experienced employees. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Work assignments may include cross-functional or project team responsibilities (e.g. continuous improvement). •Host and conduct regular conference calls with customers regarding project status and system design. •Create equipment operational training documentation and perform training with customers.

•Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical, Computer, Mechanical or similar Engineering. •Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through 5 or more years of related product and/or system design experience. •Practical knowledge of engineering principles, higher mathematics, and industry practices associated with mechanical, electrical, or other related engineering disciplines for assigned systems. •Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements (e.g. FDA, 21CFR820), related to assigned area. •Working knowledge of Biopharmaceutical processes and systems preferred. •Developed oral and written communications skills including experience in creating Power Point presentations for training. •Demonstrated organization and planning ability including the use of project management tools. •PC literate (MSWord, Excel, Project, Power Point, Auto Cad). •Highly developed analytical and interpersonal skills. •Capable of travelling up to 20% of time (domestically).
