JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • The quality manager will oversee the Quality Engineering department to ensure it is staffed appropriately and is capable of meeting production requirements as well as ensuring that the product meets customer requirements & specifications.
  • This will include periodic management reviews with staff, budgetary processes, setting up training endeavors & requisitioning additional resources when needed.
  • The manger will also be the primary quality contact, and will be responsible for handling customer issues (corrective actions, survey requests, auditing activities & all other requests) in a timely manner.
  • In addition, incumbant will be the management representative regarding implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System in accordance with AS9100 requirements.This will include involvement in the auditing processes by internal and external sources to demonstrate the effectiveness of the system, and taking appropriate actions when issues are found.
  • Manage and support Quality System Engineers in support of AS9100 activities including management reviews, audits, corrective action resolution, and training.
  • Manages, plans, and directs Quality Systems activities to maintain compliance and certification to AS9100.
  • Manage team of Quality Engineers to ensure the product meets customer requirements.
  • Provide leadership and management of the quality function at the facility, in accordance with all applicable company and U.S. Government regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Responsible for ensuring that quality program policies, plans, standards and requirements are met at the facility.
  • Interfaces routinely with all plant functions (engineering, manufacturing, sales/marketing), customers and suppliers.
  • Has management responsibilities for the quality department, and reports to the Division Quality Manager and Business Unit Manager(s).
  • Works closely with Production and Engineering to resolve quality or product issues.

    REQUIREMENTS:
  • Knowledge of the relevant manufacturing, quality or operations support function that would typically be obtained through a bachelor’s degree in a manufacturing-related business or technical discipline, and eight or more years of progressive experience within the specialty area.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the described role and responsibilities and obtain the desired results.
  • Certification or a professional designation in a specialty area (e.g. APICS) may be required or preferred depending on position requirements.
  • Four or more years of increasing responsibility for leadership within manufacturing operations requiring advanced project planning and team organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and team building skills in producing results and meeting organizational objectives.
  • Capable of assessing and developing individual and team skills and capabilities. Able to create and maintain enthusiasm for new and challenging goals.
  • Serve as a role model by promoting new ideas and positive change.
  • Thorough understanding of production technology, and/or specialty support areas including broad knowledge of business and regulatory environments and trends.
