Parker Precision Fluidics (PPF) [www.parker.com/ppf], is a leading provider of miniature fluidic components and subsystems serving the medical, diagnostic and analytical instrumentation. Product technologies include miniature solenoid valves, proportional valves, multimedia valves, application-specific manifolds, pumps, and electronic pressure controllers.

Responsible for quality and lean function across the Division. Responsible for championing and deploying Quality and Lean initiatives by utilizing the company’s strategy; Creates and implements a quality plan to achieve the level of quality established through organizational goals, customer expectations, related stakeholders and market competition.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Quality Policy & Processes: Communicates customer, regulatory and organizational requirements to assure product quality, contract compliance and customer satisfaction.
  • Implements the performance measurements necessary to effectively evaluate organizational performance and trends in product quality, services, customer satisfaction and the cost of poor quality. Uses the results of performance evaluation to target improvement efforts.
  • Quality & Supplier Interface: Collaborates with Purchasing on the development and implementation of a supplier management strategy; Assess supplier capabilities and monitor supplier quality to ensure desired levels of performance
  • Quality & New Product Development: Collaborates with Engineering on new product development and design review for quality/reliability issues; oversees Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process
  • Lean Strategy: In partnership with the Lean Manager develops a Lean Strategy to be implemented Division-wide. Guides Lean initiatives within the Division;
  • Lean Processes: Ensures the Division is implementing the company's Lean System, the principles, techniques, and methodologies;
  • Ensures on-going education of all employees at the Division; Promotes a continuous learning environment

    Education & Experience

  • Ideal candidate has 8 or more years of experience in Quality, with at least 4 or more years of experience in a leadership role. Lean experience is preferred.
  • Experience with Quality systems and ISO certification processes. Experience in FDA certification is a plus.
  • Previous work experience ideally includes experience in Value Stream Mapping, Just-in-Time, Kaizen, Demand Flow, Single Piece Flow, Six Sigma and Communication Tools
  • 4 year university degree (or international equivalent) required; Ideal candidate has studied Engineering or Business
  • Ideal candidate is working towards or has completed a Master’s degree (or international equivalent) in Business, Engineering, or related areas of study preferred Skills & Competencies
  • Possess analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices and recommend proper opportunities
  • Must have functional understanding of cost accounting and adopt to practical application
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts
  • Must be an innovator and embrace lean enterprises principles and practices
