Parker’s Voice of the Machine software and SensoNODE sensors enable our customers to monitor the operating condition of their critical industrial assets and processes to implement predictive strategies that maximize production uptime, quality and efficiency.

The IoT Product Line Application Engineer is a critical role supporting the strategic vision, conceptualization, design, build, deploy and operational performance of the Voice of the Machine software and SensoNODE product line. Critical to the success of this role will be your ability to understand the needs of our customers, and the ability to translate these needs into practical applications, ensuring that concepts get fully executed into product offerings that achieve defined business outcomes. Your focus will be to ensure our solutions operationally deliver both value to our customers and business growth to Parker.

In this role you will be expected to drive and support the development and operations of Parker’s transformative industrial condition monitoring solutions utilizing our advanced low power wireless sensor technology, IoT Edge, Cloud and Mobile software. Further, we believe there are tremendous opportunities to leverage the latest technological advancements (e.g. wireless sensor networks, mobile technologies, cloud computing, AI/ML, AR/VR, Edge Computing etc.) to enable the digital factory of the future. You will support the roadmap process for the incorporation of those technologies into our products.

You will have a combination of business insight, deep understanding of industrial process operations, significant product line support experience and the entrepreneurial mindset that enables you to support the business case development and strategy execution to delivery products that take advantage of a market opportunity. This includes but is not limited to: concept/product definition, investment analysis, Voice of Customer requirements, new product blueprinting, agile product development cycle, go-to-market plan, new product introduction (NPI), solution delivery and operations.

Some travel will be required.

YOU MUST HAVE ‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬
  • 5+ years of applied application engineering and commercialization of enterprise grade systems, in the IoT domain.
  • 5+ Years in cloud technologies and business models for SaaS, PaaS, IaaS solutions.
  • 5+ years of professional experience working with large enterprise environments known for innovation, diversified solutions/products and being passionate about end-user value.
  • 3+ years of experience developing or implementing wireless IoT devices that utilize low power radio, WiFi, cellular, or other RF technologies.
  • 3+ years of experience with mobile or edge computing applications and complex backend systems.
  • 3+ years of experience working with IoT data transport protocols such as MQTT, OPCUA and HTTP.
  • Fluent with programming various languages to accomplish a task (e.g. JS, Python, C#)

  • Entrepreneurial mentality and willingness to get your hands dirty and do what needs to be done to ensure customers successful utilization of your product.
  • Deep understanding and perspective on emergent technologies and how they shape and inform next generation products.
  • Able to work effectively in a matrix environment; demonstrated experience working with geographically dispersed teams in engineering, R&D, marketing, finance, sales, etc., using creative approaches to problem solving.
  • An excellent motivator who is charismatic, willing to take action and confident.
  • Experience in large scale cloud-based production systems.
  • Ability to encourage confidence in others.

    TECHNICAL ATTRIBUTES
  • Understand Business Intelligence/Data Analytics and the value of its application in an industrial IoT setting.
  • Familiar with embedded engineering and firmware design.
  • Familiar with sensor architecture and fundamentals. Understand RF technology and wireless networks.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud and IoT infrastructure products.
  • Familiar with the network through which data flows (e.g. TCP/IP stack). Network security. Networking within/across both OT and IT environments.
  • Understanding of IT/IoT security requirements and technologies.
  • Understanding of fluid power concepts and various components in a fluid power system.
  • Familiar with factory automation and controls – how industrial machines work, control system programming (e.g. ladder logic), and industrial protocols (e.g. ModBus).
  • Data Science – Familiar with statistics, machine learning, data mining.
