POSITION SUMMARY
The Parker Filtration Innovation Center is seeking a worthy candidate to provide process, manufacturing, and product development support for our filter media Research & Development. The position of Process Engineer will play a key role in providing technical strategies and solutions for next generation nonwoven technologies. This role will focus on hands-on support and requires leadership expertise in manufacturing and process knowledge, design, troubleshooting and continuous improvement related to multiple industrial applications in the area of filtration, separation and purification.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
  • Preparation and active leadership of manufacturing trials and lead production runs on filter media pilot equipment.
  • Hands-on running of process equipment during manufacturing trials.
  • Debugging process and equipment related issues on the manufacturing pilot lines.
  • Apply established chemical engineering principles, coupled with nonwoven experience, in the development and production of next generation filter media and improve performance, reproducibility, reliability and quality for either existing or new products.
  • Develop and execute FMEAs (PFMEA, DFMEA) and implement risk mitigation strategies
  • Design, conduct, and support experimentation to fully understand the fundamentals of the filter media manufacturing processes
  • Lead the characterization of all aspects of the process variables (inputs & outputs) inherent to the production processes
  • Interface directly with internal and external customers and suppliers to troubleshoot any quality issues
  • Work in a collaborative manner with other team members (product managers, other engineer/scientists, applications, product prototyping, etc.) to ensure that the materials and products meet all end user requirements and specifications
  • Work in a collaborative manner with other Parker divisions, including the engineering, sales, supply chain, and quality departments to ensure proper product, material flow, and information flow.
  • Establish strategies for complete verification and validation, perform pertinent verification tests and conduct analysis of said results to ensure that verification of the requirements and validation of the system performance is complete and accepted.
  • Lead and own processes of identification & analysis to drive technical issues to resolution.
  • Work with the entire product team in the preparation and review of all performance and functional requirements, risk assessments and all other project documents
  • Take an active role in the Parker Filtration Innovation Center’s Environmental, Health & Safety programs

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor of Chemical Engineering, Material Sciences, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience working in a process oriented manufacturing environment. Experience in nonwoven manufacturing preferred
  • Strong understanding of process and instrument diagrams
  • Displays hands-on capability and a mechanical aptitude
  • Demonstrated knowledge of controls logic, software, and programming
  • Competency in working communicatively and effectively in a cross-functional team setting
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical projects and project management skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge and competency in Lean manufacturing practices and quality protocols. Experience in six sigma methodology preferred.
  • Demonstrated high level of technical writing and oral presentation skills
  • Proven ability to multi-task, manage projects and deliver on objectives
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) Visio, Minitab or similar
  • Requires physical capability to lift loads up to 50 lbs, the ability to stand and walk for extended duration.
