• Evaluate and develops innovative solutions to complex manufacturing production problems through identification and implementation of advanced manufacturing processes. • Evaluates capital equipment investments and prepare cost justifications. • Design and prepare concept drawings and implement new equipment, prototypes or modifications to existing equipment. Manage the overall implementations of capital equipment projects. • Investigates and prepares manufacturing methods for new products and prototypes in a timely manner. Prepares and carries out tool redesign and alterations. • Evaluates, recommends and implements changes to current manufacturing processes by analyzing production, labor standards, and material cost. • Process control and reliability for broad areas of manufacturing that may include supplier base as appropriate. • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, equipment layout and establishing and implementing “design for manufacture and assembly” plans. • Refines and enhances products and process by applying continuous improvements and key lean manufacturing/production principles and techniques to critical or high-impact areas of production. May lead special projects for a variety of products and processes. • Ensure that all levels of safety and ergonomics are implemented into each automation change. • Assure product and process quality by design testing methods, testing finished product and process capabilities, and establishing standards to confirm and validate manufacturing process requirements. • Determines root cause of failures using statistical methods (e.g. design of experiment, statistical process control) that may result in changes in design, tolerances, or processing methods. • Maintain regular daily presence on the production floor and provide engineering support to machining, assembly, and paint in areas of safety, ergonomic evaluations, methods improvement, procurement, and fabrication of necessary equipment to improve/complete any required process additions and/or alterations, responding to their concerns/suggestions • Develop automated strategies within Edgecam and programming EIS/ISO macro’s using Fanuc controls will be ideally suited to this role • Create and maintain manufacturing assembly flow charts: Visual Manufacturing Procedures • Create and maintain manufacturing work instructions • Create and maintain manufacturing control plans • Input of manufacturing (tooling, Assembly and Manufacturing Test equipment) estimates to quotations to our potential customers. • Conduct work flow analysis and make recommendations for improvement in material handling and shop layout. • Establish and maintain work standards for product costing and productivity measurements. • Train employees on new processes. • Outsource custom machining when required. • Perform other duties as assigned

Education/Experience: • Bachelor’s Degree in related Engineering or Technology field • 3-5 years experience in CNC programming system and manufacturing environment • Manufacturing Knowledge of fluid power components would be an asset • Good knowledge of manufacturing, processes, production reporting Certifications: • CNC programming certificate (would be an asset) • Fluid power certificate (would be an asset) • CME certificate (would be an asset) Skills: • Knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials. • Must be able to communicate at all levels of the organization and with suppliers. • Understanding of CNC controllers Fanuc controls, conversational controls. • Good understanding of ISO Quality System • Knowledge of CNC Lathe and Mill processes • Understanding and design of cutting tools and fixtures • Understanding and practice of lean principles • Good communication skills to all levels of the organization and suppliers. • Good organizational and intra personal skills • Understanding of Hydraulics and Pneumatic systems • Computer Skills –Microsoft Office Suite, Project, Inventor, Edgecam • Excellent problem-solving techniques and methods • Must be able to work independently and prioritize tasks • Strong attention to detail and accuracy • Understanding of Health and Safety Act NOTE: This position requires is not a hybrid or remote role. The successful individual will be required to be in the facility to support the manufacturing team.
