The Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) Division is a global best-in-class solutions provider of unique and customized vibration control, motion management, electromechanical systems and sensing solutions serving primarily aerospace, defense, and industrial end-markets in mission-critical functions. The NVH Division has 2 Business Units: Aerospace & Defense (A&D) and Industrial Equipment (IE).

Position Summary The primary purpose of this role is leading the Division in its Lean Transformation through the implementation of the Parker Lean System (PLS). The successful candidate delivers practical, hands-on training to team members in PLS methodology and tools to eliminate waste in all administrative, manufacturing and support functions. Measures and reports progress on an on-going basis using the Win Scorecard and PLS Lean Journey Assessment. Ensures full Parker Lean System education and implementation in all functional areas at the Division, Plant, and Facility level to ensure consistency and sustainability. Provides continuous improvement leadership and direction to the Division Staff. Develops and manages the Lean team, where appropriate. Position reports to the General Manager.

  • Guides all PLS initiatives within the Division. Works with Division staff and Plant level management on Lean implementation using Parker Lean Systems as the principal tool. Ensures the development of a robust Lean Future State Strategy to be implemented Division-wide.
  • The Division Lean Manager will ensure adherence to PLS standards at the Division for the Site, Value Stream and Team Improvement boards enabling a PDCA culture and progression of the Lean Journey. Supports Plant Lean Leaders through required and special team meetings. Provides high level of technical and operational recommendations in meeting productivity, material control, product quality, and customer service goals.
  • Helps develop Plant Lean Leaders with an emphasis on championing the Division’s goals, objectives, and implementation plans relative to the Lean Journey Assessment, Division Strategy Deployment, and Future State Site Plans.
  • Ensures on-going education of all team members at the Division in PLS. Promotes a Continuous Learning environment.
  • Communicates the status of all Lean efforts to the Division Staff and Group Lean Director. Provides documentation of results and benefits achieved to the Division Staff and the Corporate Lean Leader, as reported through Parker's Lean Journey Assessment and Win scorecard. Shares “best practice” methods and ideas with Division Staff and Group Lean Director.
  • Leads the Division annual operations cost improvement initiative process. Collaborates with all global sites to set annual improvement goals. Works cross-functionally to remove obstacles and support all global sites in achieving annual improvement goals.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a manufacturing related field, business or engineering, and progressive career experience. An MBA or an advanced technical degree is preferred.
  • Ten or more years of major professional accomplishments including increasing responsibility and leadership of projects and teams of considerable size, scope, and complexity within a manufacturing environment for seven or more years.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and team building skills in delivering results and meeting organizational objectives.
  • Ability to lead global cross-functional improvement initiatives.
  • Capable of assessing and developing individual and team skills and capabilities. Able to create and maintain enthusiasm for new and challenging goals. Serve as a role model by promoting new ideas and positive change.
  • Previous work experience ideally includes experience in Value Stream Mapping, Just-in-Time, Kaizen, Demand Flow, Single Piece Flow, Problem Solving.
  • Understanding of General Cost Accounting Practices and practical application.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and participate in high-performance teams (HPTs).
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication and coaching skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts.
  • Current knowledge of the latest manufacturing technology, productivity and quality measurements, and material/planning systems requiring continual review of methods to optimize productivity.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% for weeks at a time. Non-Mandatory Requirements:

  • Multi-disciplinary experience (e.g. Quality, Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Lean, Product Design, Supply Chain, etc..)
  • Willingness to relocate or work out of any of the NVH US-based plants.
