Position Summary: Responsible for managing authorized distributor/fabricator account sales and authorized manufacturer representative sales channels across the globe across a broad market base (Aerospace, Automotive, Defense, General Industrial, IT/Telecoms, Life Sciences etc). Direct the Territory Sales Managers to work in conjunction with distributor and manufacturer representatives to maintain and increase sales volume & margin with existing and new accounts. Responsible for securing & maintaining distribution of products, as well as effective authorized manufacturer representatives’ agreements. Has accountability for developing and implementing sales channel strategies to maximize market penetration as well as meeting/exceeding sales goals and objectives.

  • Ensures Distributor and manufacturing representative's sales goals are achieved.
  • Effectively utilizes placement, motivation, training & development skills with the Territory Sales Managers to support the sales growth through authorized channels.
  • Actively calls on distributor locations and their key accounts, manufacturing representative key accounts, and coaches Territory Sales Managers to develop and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Demonstrate the ability to research and select new distributor and manufacturer representative organizations as needed.
  • Administer the development of the distributor organizations relative to the goals outlined in co-operative business plans and their measured value to the division.
  • Develop strong relationships and influence with Business Units and across the corporation as appropriate to leverage resources to achieve business objectives.
  • Provide timely feedback to Business Units and Management on the effectiveness of distributors and manufacturers representatives marketing strategies and other competitive market pressures.
  • Ensures Parker products and services are meeting customer satisfaction levels and resolves conflict issues effectively and efficiently.
  • Responsible for gathering, interpreting and disseminating market data provided by territory managers and company marketing programs.
  • Implements strategies to recognize new revenue and margin opportunities. Strategically manages the development and implementation of appropriate responses to competition.
  • Keeps management and territory managers aware of changes which would affect the sale of Parker products.
  • Directs the development and maintenance of comprehensive technical knowledge of group/divisional products, applications, features, advantages and benefits.
  • Keeps staff developed with internal and external training and development.
  • Establish, organize and participate in technical seminars (Tech Days) or product training
  • Proactively identify and engage the commercial team in “share gain” initiatives to increase revenues above the current market growth rates.
  • Actively lead and participate in exhibitions
  • Assist multiple groups and divisions in planning strategy to provide the products and service required.
  • Actively support cross-divisional and other group products with proper referral.

  • 4-year college degree required (Business, Mechanical/Chemical/Electronics Engineering preferred)
  • 8-10+ years of relevant experience required
  • 4-6+ years of experience in distributor or manufacturers’ rep sales of industrial technical products.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written.
  • PC skills a must along with social media dexterity.
  • Must be able to travel overnight up to 50% of time; or as required.
  • Capable of cross group selling.
  • Must have proven track record of exceeding sales goals
  • Must be a US Citizen or have US Permanent Resident Status.
